The Sacrament of Reconciliation, also referred to as Confession, is an experience of the gift of God’s mercy. It emphasizes healing, reconciliation with God, oneself, and others and can be a personal encounter with a loving and forgiving God. We confess our sins to a priest, feel a conversion of heart to change our ways, accept forgiveness and are absolved of our sins. Not only does Reconciliation free of us from our sins, but it challenges us to have the same kind of compassion and forgiveness for those who sin against us.
