First Communion Students & Families: Congratulations to all of our 208 students who received the sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time over the past two weeks. Parents of these students who are receiving First Communion this May are reminded that the Sacramental Catechesis on Eucharist will be held on Tuesday, February 7th at 7 PM in the Church. Important information regarding your child’s celebration of First Communion will be distributed – please sign in upon arrival. There will not be a makeup session so we are anticipating 100% attendance of parents (at least one) and students. This catechesis is the lesson of the week for our Communion children – therefore, classes for all Communion children are cancelled for the 5:00PM session on 2/7/16 (Sandra Monteiro, Lisa Basto and Christine Phillips) and for the 4PM session on 2/8/17 (Sophia Feliciano, Yanet Capo, Evelyne Laham and Stephanie Diaz) as we expect all to attend the 7pm catechesis in the church on 2/7/16. All other grade levels will be in session on Tuesday and Wednesday as usual.

Pre- vConfirmation Students & Families: If you did not attend the Commitment Mass last week on January 31st, please remember to bring completed Commitment Letters (found in your Opening Day Packet) to class so that we may submit them to Father Jimmy.

1.A REMINDER TO PARENTS OF STUDENTS RECEIVING CONFIRMATION ON MARCH 31, 2017: Remember FEBRUARY 21ST! This is the date for our Sacramental Catechesis which will take place in the church at 7PM. Parents, sponsors and students are invited to attend, but it is mandatory for at least one parent as well as the student. Please arrive early to sign in. This catechesis will be the weekly lesson for these students, therefore, the Confirmation classes of Mrs. Rodriguez and Mrs. Saul will not be held at 5PM on that day. All other grade levels will be in session as usual at 5PM and 7PM.

2.Whether you are a first or second year Confirmation candidate, your sponsor forms are past due. Please submit this paperwork as soon as possible or contact our office if you have any questions or issues with compliance. Students receiving the sacrament this March are also past deadline to submit their saint name and corresponding saint report. And please note that the letter to Father Jimmy requesting the sacrament is due on February 21st.

Saint Mark CARNIVAL IN THE RANCHES: WEEK ONE OF RAFFLE SALES WENT WELL!!!! Last week during classes, Carnival Chair Ann Haeflinger had a special incentive for all students who sold 3 books during WEEK ONE — a chance to win a free Session Pass! We thank those families and applaud those who also sold their five books ($50) and earned a Carnival Tee Shirt! Don’t forget to put the size of the tee shirt you want on the proceeds envelope! And, the sooner your child brings in his /her completed stubs and money, the greater the chances that he/she will have to win in the weekly drawings for additional incentive prizes. There is less than 4 weeks to go until the Saint Mark CARNIVAL IN THE RANCHES is here on March 2ND through 5TH!! Please … parents, we are counting on your support to help sell, to see that stubs are completely filled out and to send the stubs and proceeds in each week to the child’s teacher. YOUR SAINT MARK FAMILY IS COUNTING ON YOU!!!

CHILDREN’S CATECHUMENATE PROGRAM A reminder for families whose children will be receiving sacraments at Easter Vigil 2017: Please mark your calendar for Tuesday, February 7th… we are expecting the student and at least one parent to attend the Communion Catechesis at 7:00PM in the Church.

The topic for this Monday, February 6th will continue to explore the Sacraments and their graces. See you at 7:00 7PM in Room 114!
