Religious Education and Faith Formation | Week of 1/15/17

TO ALL OF OUR FAMILIES, STUDENTS, CATECHISTS & VOLUNTEERS:

Religious Education Classes will be in session each and every Tuesday and Wednesday during the months of January and February.

Parents of students who will be celebrating First Communion this May are reminded that these children will be receiving First Reconciliation on either January 28th or February 4th. Each class is scheduled to attend one of 4 penance services held on these Saturdays – please check your packet for the purple flyer received at the parent meeting on October 25th. At least one parent is expected to remain with each child through the service – please come early to sign in. Baptismal certificates must be on file prior to the reception of this sacrament; parents who have not as yet furnished this document were reminded by flyer and email. Specific details and reminders will be distributed in the coming weeks but in the meantime, should you have any other question or concern regarding First Reconciliation, your child’s catechist or any member of our staff is available to assist.

CHILDREN’S CATECHUMENATE PROGRAM

A reminder for families whose children will be receiving sacraments at Easter Vigil 2017: The completed Baptismal Application along with the Godparent Information and Documentation will be due on January 18th when you attend the Baptism Catechesis. Please note this date on your calendar as participation for both the parents(s) and the student is mandatory. An invitation was distributed to your child during last week’s Tuesday/Wednesday sessions and sent to the email address on file.

If you are missing this Baptismal Application form and/or need further information on the requirements for godparents, please see your Sunday catechist team or a Religious Education staff member during your child’s Tuesday/Wednesday session.

Weekly Mass attendance is an expectation, not only from us for our participants, but from the Lord for all of us who wish to follow Him. Dismissal sessions continue every Sunday at 9:30 Mass.

There will be no classes on Monday, January 16, 2017 due to the MLK holiday.
